Problem / Use Case
There’s no central place to easily find and support local queer talent in Aotearoa. Event organisers, venues, and community groups often rely on word of mouth or social media, which can be limiting and inconsistent.
A Talent Directory would make it easier to discover and connect with LGBTQ+ talent, whether for a pride festival, corporate gig, drag brunch, art show, or school talk.
Proposed Solution
Add a searchable, browsable directory to GayNZ.com where LGBTQ+ individuals can create a free profile with:
  • Name / Stage Name
  • Bio
  • Type of work (e.g., drag, musician, visual artist, speaker, DJ, etc.)
  • Location (city and region)
  • Social links / website
  • Contact details (or booking info form)
  • Optional tags or filters could help with navigation (e.g., “available for travel,” “corporate gigs,” etc.).
Users could browse or search the directory to find talent by location, category, or keyword.
Value / Impact
This would:
  • Promote visibility and opportunities for LGBTQ+ talent across NZ
  • Help organisers plan better events with diverse, local acts
  • Strengthen the queer ecosystem by connecting people directly
